After a moment of epic fate in 1979, Hazel McCallion became a legend and a Mayor for life.
Born in 1921, Hazel was a trailblazer. In her younger years she became a professional hockey player, but decided that politics was her true calling. Becoming Mayor just in time for the 1979 Mississauga train derailment. A huge disaster and mass evacuation that made her a hero.
